Thursday morning at 10:30 a.m., a man will drill a hole in my head. On purpose.
We got the official invitation from Hershey Medical Center today from a lovely woman named Judy, who seems incredibly nice, except for her part in the Black & Decker/Garnet’s skull partnership. When we discussed the precise location of the excavation site, she did not seem to be concerned about excessive hair loss. I am not sure if it is because of the precise nature of the procedure or the natural clearing that male pattern baldness has already caused. My father’s hairline-finally paying off!
This week has been a blur and there are times when none of it seems real. I still ask my wife for clarification on certain details, such as, “When did I do that?”, “Does this person know?”, “Did Cliff Lee really sign with the Phillies?”. Hopefully, tomorrow will be the first step to whatever is the new normal.
I am not sure when you will hear from me tomorrow, but you will. I appreciate every thought and message. Whether you want Ladies Dancing, Lords-a-Leaping or Maids-a-Milking, may you get what you want this holiday season.
Keeping the faith
Garnet

Garnet. You are in our thoughts, in our hearts, and in our prayers. We hope today went well. As I have watched my father fight for his life these past twelve months, I have learned that your faith in God, the will to live, and the love from your friends and family can guide you through anything. Be strong.
We love you, The Agnone Family.
p.s. – You heard right, Cliff Lee signed with the Phillies. This is bad for my Braves.

Dear Garnett…Suzie Q. Kohler is a good friend of mine and she shared your blog with me. So not only will you have friends and family rooting for you, but you will have friends you haven’t met yet…who will be keeping you and your family in their thoughts and prayers. May the “Great Physician” guide the hands and care of your physicians and nurses!
I’m hoping that as you recover Sue will make you a batch of Salted-Toffee Chocolate Squares. Of course, if she has any left-over, I’m hoping she brings some into work too! We really enjoyed your appearance with the “Martha.” You totally could have run away with the show…I think she burnt your hand on purpose.

Garnet,
My first suggestion would be is to have a ‘witness’ watching the procedure. God forbid they get inside that head of yours and find your abundance of “amazingness”, courage, strength, (and yes, the wit too!) and faith you obviously have. They may want to steal some of that and bottle it up for profit! How else are they going to pay-off their med school loans?? So beware of those wanting your ‘stuff’!!
okay. now. The Lord has you in his almighty healing hands, so that is a mighty fine place to start. You are being ‘drilled’ at a facility that knows only excellence. You are also surrounded by the love, prayers, and positive energy forces by family and countless numbers of friends. The results of this procedure may or may not create a different script for the next chapter in your life, but it still will be an incredible novel!
So prayers to you and your family. Hopefully they will be playing some good music as you slip into dreamland! ( the cath will probably be worse than the drill!) And yes, Cliff Lee did sign with the Phillies!

Lots of prayers heading your way today. Your strength and courage will prevail and trust me… it’s much easier to laugh through all of this yukky stuff.

God is starting to know that Garnet is a very special person since so many requests coming in to keep you safe and in his care. The prayer line is busy but all messages will get thru so rest assured you are in good hands today.

You and your family are in my prayers. I met you when you stopped by Main Line Broadcasting recently and I worked with your father for 12 years. Rick received an email from your mother and forwarded it to everyone here at the radio station. Enjoyed reading your blog.

I hope everything goes well today. You’re going to be one of the chosen few who can flip that old saying “I need that ____ like I need a hole in the head!” Now it will mean “I really need it!!!” The sarcasm has been removed.
Take care and I can’t wait to read your next entry!

You are in our continual thoughts and prayers!! We have complete faith that God is guiding the hands of those drillers. With love, The Fahrney’s

Please let me know when the drilling bill comes in… I was startled to discover the “drill bit” for my spine surgery was $1962. Have these people not heard of Lowes? Oh and I was charged $138 for Neosporin and $116 for a preganancy test…. If you see THAT on your bill you’ve got problems! I am praying for your complete recovery and am thankful your faith and humor are carrying you through.
